First priorities: secure clean supplies, make a small functional territory, use a weapon you can maintain and learn what pollution does to Sanity. Expand after those basics work. This is a principle for a new account, not a claim about an optimal server route.
Watch the survival feedback

The official Steam description says polluted food and water reduce Sanity, and lower Sanity reduces maximum HP. That is an easy source of confusion when you are focused on the visible enemy. When your effective health changes, check what you consumed and what the current status display says before blaming your weapon. Use clean supplies where possible and read the game’s present status explanations.
Fight ordinary enemies with a weapon whose ammunition and upkeep you can support. The publisher describes a large blueprint collection, upgrades and accessories, but owning a blueprint is only one part of a usable loadout. Decide what problem a new weapon solves: range, ease of handling or a particular enemy. Keep a dependable option while you experiment.
Build for function, then move if needed
The store page says a Territory Core lets you build and relocate your territory. That supports a practical first base: keep frequently used functions close together, leave room to move, and do not spend your entire first session decorating a location you may abandon. Before relocating, check the current in-game rules for your scenario and server. This article does not assume every seasonal rule works the same way.
If you are playing with friends, agree on a meeting point and a simple shared objective. If you are alone, a compact shelter and a short resource route are enough to get started. Either way, avoid rushing a dangerous area simply because a guide mentions a rare drop.
Check the scenario you joined
Once Human changes through scenarios and updates. Menu names, event rewards and server rules should be checked on the current screen, especially when a guide was written for a different season. The game’s free entry and optional purchases are separate from the basic survival loop; decide whether you enjoy that loop before buying a cosmetic or pack.
VexRig’s takeaway: if you can explain what protects your health, where your essential supplies come from and why your base is placed there, you have a sound foundation. VexRig has not independently played this scenario for the article.
