Neverness to Everness (NTE) throws a supernatural city, team combat, upgrades and character pulls at you quickly. Start with the story, learn one team, identify the two activity resources, and read the current board before spending pulls. You do not need an endgame build on day one.

NTE is a free-to-play urban fantasy action RPG from Hotta Studio. You play an anomaly hunter in Hethereau. It includes in-app and chance-based purchases. See the official introduction and Steam listing. We checked the version 1.4 notes on October 9, 2026; events and boards change.

At a glance: Story first → one usable team → spend activity resources with a goal → inspect the current board before pulling. If a menu is still locked, return to the main quest rather than following a guide written for a later account stage.

1. Let the main quest open the game

The story leads you through the first unlocks. Practice movement and team switching before optimizing. GameWith places Character Pixels and daily material activities after Chapter 1; check your current version’s menus rather than assuming the exact unlock point. Source: GameWith.

Try each available character in ordinary encounters. If a fight stalls, learn your team’s attacks, support skills and defenses before copying a late-game ranking.

2. Keep the two activity resources separate

The version 1.4 notes distinguish Character Pixels, used in activities such as Houdinii’s Magic Stage and Bubble Can Factory, from City Stamina, used in Hethereau Hobbies. Temporary bonuses in those notes are not permanent rewards. Check each activity’s current cost and payout.

For character materials, inspect Character Pixels activities. For city activities, check Hethereau Hobbies and its City Stamina cost. Choose by the reward you need; the pools are separate.

The city offers business management, driving, deliveries and other activities. Sample what you enjoy rather than treating every option as a daily obligation. Developer overview.

3. Build a usable team before spreading upgrades around

Improve a group that can deal damage and survive ordinary fights before upgrading everyone. A tier list cannot account for the characters you own or enjoy.

Before spending upgrade materials, ask three questions:

  1. Is this character on the team I am using now?
  2. What problem will this upgrade solve?
  3. Can I earn the required materials without stalling the rest of my team?

If you cannot answer yet, wait a few sessions.

4. Treat pulls as a choice, not a deadline

Before spending scarce currency, read the active in-game board: its end date, featured rewards and guarantee rules. The version 1.4 notes list a limited board; launch-era advice cannot describe what is active now.

Identify your team’s gap, inspect the current rewards, then set a spending limit. Ignore an old “120+ free pulls” graphic unless its eligibility and dates are verified for your account.

Thinking of restarting for an early pull? Try your current team first. GameWith generally discourages rerolling if you want to start exploring. Source: GameWith.

A checklist for your next session

  • Have you advanced the story far enough to unlock the activities you need?
  • Do you know which activities spend Character Pixels and which spend City Stamina?
  • Can your core team handle ordinary encounters without upgrading your entire roster?
  • Have you read the dates and rules of the current board before pulling?
  • Which city activities are actually fun or useful for you?

VexRig’s takeaway: Advance the story, build one usable team, and learn the two activity resources. Optimize when you can name the obstacle. This guide uses the linked sources; VexRig has not conducted an independent playtest.
