Hethereau mixes supernatural quests with a city full of optional diversions. Here is who should try the free game, and what only a hands-on session can settle.
Editorial method: this is a documented assessment of official game descriptions, platform disclosures and version 1.4 notes. VexRig has not played or benchmarked NTE. There is no score, tested badge or claim about frame rate or combat feel.
The case for trying it

NTE gives a free entry point to a distinctive urban fantasy setting. Hotta Studio describes Hethereau as a city where anomalous events sit alongside shops, companions, vehicles and everyday activities. The Steam listing presents the player as an unlicensed anomaly hunter working with the Eibon antique shop. The version 1.4 notes add a story episode, locations and events, which suggests the city remains the center of ongoing development.
That breadth is a good reason to try NTE if you enjoy changing pace between a story objective, a fight and wandering through an open world. It is not proof that each system is equally deep. A trailer can show variety; only your own sessions can tell you whether moving through the city feels rewarding.
Reasons to pause

The same scope can feel crowded. Story gates, character growth, city activities and timed events may compete for attention. Steam lists in-app and chance-based purchases. Patch notes also describe limited character boards, perk milestones and event-specific currencies. Read the actual rules before you spend; a promotional “free pulls” count is not a guaranteed account balance.
The game is available on several platforms, but VexRig has not measured load times or responsiveness on any of them. Check current requirements for your device and recent reports from players with comparable setups. A publisher screenshot cannot answer a performance question.
A fair three-session trial
First, follow the story far enough to learn the team and ordinary combat. Second, sample a city activity when it becomes available. Third, inspect the present board and one character-growth activity without spending money. Ask separately whether you like the controls, the city routine and the progression model. A three-session trial is our suggested method, not a promise that every activity unlocks in three days.
Verdict: NTE looks worth sampling for players drawn to supernatural city exploration and several kinds of play in one free game. If you want a short, self-contained campaign or dislike timed progression and character pulls, those systems deserve a careful trial before you invest. This conclusion is an inference from the cited material, not a VexRig hands-on review.
